The LEADS Certificate in Innovative Thinking and Problem Solving complements any major or minor and gives you a flexible way to build skills and experience beyond your major.
Through the certificate, you’ll develop innovative thinking, problem solving, professionalism, and other transferable career skills while gaining hands-on experience.

The certificate is designed to give you choices. You’ll select courses from a range of options that allow you to connect your LEADS experience with your interests and goals.
The certificate requires 13 credit hours and begins with LEAD 2600 (1 credit hour). From there, you’ll choose courses from the following categories, with multiple course options available in each:
- Innovative Thinking: Develop creative approaches to challenges and practice innovative problem solving.
- Professionalism: Build career-ready skills for communicating, collaborating, and navigating professional environments.
- Course-Based Internship Experience: Gain hands-on experience working with an external partner on a real-world project.
- LEADS Electives: Choose additional LEADS courses that align with your interests and goals.
